A few weeks ago I wrote a post about an incredibly interesting contest taking place on over a dozen different author's websites. The contest was called "Crossing the Streams" and the basic idea is to visit an author's website, locate their entry criteria and submit. For complete background and rules check it out here.
Lo and behold, it turns out I wrote a winner! At Matt Forbeck's site (he is an awesome writer and gamer with some pretty amazing goals for the year) I created a "Hollywood-style" mash-up pitch. My entry was;

Imagine Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory meets Dawn of the Dead, okay? Starring Vin Diesel or John Cena (whoever is available) as the fearless, chainsaw-wielding candymaster who must use his wits, brawn and knowledge of confectionery delights to defend hapless tourists from the purple horde of rampaging, flesh-eating Oompa Loompas!

I got a nice email from him and will be receiving an autographed copy of his newest book, Carpathia. Totally cool. It was a great idea for a contest and I'd love to see more of the same.
